The promise
Every interior paint job we complete carries a 5-year workmanship warranty from the day we finish. We put it in writing on every invoice. If our application fails inside that window, we come back and fix it at no charge.
What is covered
Within 5 years of job completion, we will repair — at no cost to you — any of the following caused by our workmanship:
- Peeling, flaking, or blistering of the paint film
- Adhesion failure between coats or to the substrate
- Visible flashing caused by uneven coverage or under-thinned paint
- Brush, roller, or lap marks that develop into visible defects
- Yellowing of trim enamel beyond what the paint manufacturer specifies as normal
Repair includes prep, paint, and labour. We use the same product and colour as the original job whenever still available.
What is not covered
The warranty does not cover:
- Water damage from leaks, condensation, or humidity events
- Substrate failure (drywall cracks from settling, plaster delamination, etc.)
- Pre-existing conditions not visible at the time of quoting
- Damage caused by others — third-party touch-ups, cleaning chemicals, contractors after us
- Normal wear and tear — scuffs, marks, fading from direct sunlight, washable-paint cleaning over years
- Surfaces we did not paint
- Exterior surfaces (covered separately under a 2-year exterior warranty when applicable)
- Manufacturer defects in the paint product itself — covered by Benjamin Moore's product warranty, which we will help you claim
How to make a claim
- Take photos of the affected area in good light.
- Email [email protected] with your photos, the original invoice number, and a short description.
- We respond within 2 business days and book an inspection visit within 2 weeks.
- If the issue is covered, we schedule the repair at no charge.
Transferability
The warranty is tied to the address, not the homeowner. If you sell the unit during the warranty period, the new owner inherits the remaining coverage. They should keep the invoice as proof.
Paint product warranty
Benjamin Moore Regal and Aura — the paints we use — carry their own manufacturer warranty for product defects. If a problem turns out to be a paint-product issue rather than application, we will help you file the claim with Benjamin Moore.
Limits
- The warranty applies only to the specific job invoiced and paid in full.
- Our maximum liability is limited to redoing the affected work — we do not refund the original job in lieu of repair.
- Repeated failures of the same area after two repair attempts may be settled by partial refund instead of further repairs, at our discretion.
